With hundreds of gratified clients to his credit, dynamic New York City real estate professional Onur Büyükdeğirmenci has the know-how of an industry veteran and the energetic attitude of a trailblazing maverick.
Born in Germany and raised in Turkey, Onur's international worldview is integral to everything he does, and having relocated to New York City himself, he knows how challenging it can be to settle in the city. His goal is to use his own hard-earned knowledge and natural empathy to make his clients' real estate experience as easy and as enjoyable as possible.
Onur earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Marmara University in Istanbul and started his career at Deloitte, building his strong professional foundation. But his true passion was always found in more creative pursuits, namely the culinary arts. After training under world-renowned chefs, Onur came to New York in 2010 to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. He graduated with honors and worked at Michelin three-starred restaurants Jean Georges and Eleven Madison Park before combining his impeccable hospitality, creativity and finance skills in the real estate industry.
Professional and honest with a deft ability to multitask under pressure, Onur is also incredibly accessible and friendly. He has a calming demeanor and a confident outlook that makes the city's often-confusing array of buildings, neighborhoods and real estate rules seem easy to understand. "I have both an empathetic and analytical approach, which I gained from my years in finance and hospitality," he explains. "I can present numbers to those who are analytical, but I can also work with people who are making deeply emotional decisions." With this well-rounded, full-service approach, it's no surprise that Onur has earned a long list of loyal, repeat clients and referral business.
After living all over Manhattan, Onur has called Long Island City home for the last few years, and he loves the neighborhood's accessibility, great restaurants and stunning waterfront views. When not hard at work, he enjoys cooking with his friends and family, dancing, swimming and reading.
